Afterward, nobody was really sure how he’d managed to break into the tool shed, let alone come up with dynamite in the first place.

Crustacean Thing
Basically another doodle which I then colorized on Photoshop.
Football Cougar
This was initially just a random sketch of an idea for a cougar mascot, but I liked how it turned out so I did a bit of quick colorization in Photoshop. The rough color along with the still sketchy outline give it a rather interesting feel, I think.
A Trio of Skulls
I actually quite like how these turned out. Skulls are much better at posing for portraits than chickens are.
Chickens are Annoying
I did a little bit of sketching while we were visiting Rosemary’s aunt and uncle who have quite a few animals around. The chickens were a bit frustrating to draw since they didn’t like to hold still, plus after a few minutes all the roosters decided to start crowing at me. Probably because:
- They thought I was going to feed them.
- They realized I wasn’t going to feed them.
- I was blocking their view of the house from whence the food would actually come.
In any case, the crowing got old pretty quickly, so I decided to go draw something a bit more… dead.

Jellyfish
This was just a thumbnail for a painting I wanted to try. In fact, and this was somewhat unexpected, I essentially finished the final one the same night. So once I finally get around to scanning it, it’s probably going to end up in the main gallery. I’ll post a link to it from here though.
Rampaging Squirrel – The Prelude
So anyway, here’s a quick concept sketch based on the first post I made. The plan is to mature it into a qualified Super Blog Header at some point. Then you shall witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational blog!
Or something.
Frog Cowboy
Another in-class doodle, inspired by Rachel’s brilliant hotdog-thieving frogs. I’m not sure where the hat came from, though, which makes one wonder whether a frog with a cowboy hat is some sort of Jungian archetype. Interestingly, an internet search for “frog cowboy” returns frog cowboy paintings, stuffed toys, sculptures, and even a quilt. Wondering how common this type of thing is, I tried searching for “iguana cowboy”. It just returned boots. And no, they didn’t have pictures of cattle-herding lizards on them.
10-Second Humpback
Yes, I believe that’s about how long I spent on this one (a mid-class doodle, of course), and I thought it turned out pretty nice, all things considered. And yes, he does apparently have a rather large collection of barnacles on his nose.
